Knicker Making Demo @ Totnes Market
As part of the ‘Change the Exchange’ event, organised by students of the MA Economics for Transition students from Schumacher College, I took a sewing machine to Totnes market and offered free demonstrations on how to make knickers! It was a great morning and I had lots of interesting conversations with people from the local area. I always love how surprised women are when they realise how easy it is to make professional, stretchy, well-fitting knickers on a domestic sewing machine at home! The event was organised for the community to co-create new ideas on how a sustainable, thriving, resilient local economy could be, and how the residents could support each other more ways than just the exchange of money.
